PANCAN Purplestride

On Sunday morning our family walked in the PANCAN Purplestride 5K. We planned on doing the 1 Mile Fun Run together, but somehow got on the 5K track. We got lost along the way but had a good time raising money for a cause that is close to our heart. We walked in honor of my grandma, Betty Thomas and Kara's dad, Jim Platt. Jim lost his battle with cancer in 2005. We are blessed that my grandma is a 15 year pancreatic cancer survivor. She is probably one of the only 15 year survivors ever! It is important to me to raise money and awareness about this terrible type of cancer.

Will had a lot of fun with Kara's niece, Stella.
They are too cute!

We all wore these signs.  Seeing these names on the sign made me very emotional.  Just another reminder of how blessed I am to have my grandma.
Jack wanted to get out and play! He was a trooper and lasted the whole way in the stroller.

Kara with Will, Stella and Sloane.
Kara sure does have cute nieces!
My race buddy!
Here we go!
Love these two.

After the race we rushed to my nephew's baptism.  We ended up meeting everyone at lunch and these boys had a blast.
